Ruffled Apron

I decided to make Jace's mom Mary an apron for her birthday. I fell in love with this fabric when I saw it. It's just so bright and loud I couldn't resist. I saw this apron and loved the soft ruffle at the bottom. I called up my mom, she made a pattern for it and away we sewed. I wrapped it up in a chinese take-out box. (get it? It's a food box with an apron in it.) I'm lame, I know. Anyway, these are the best pics I have of it. Mandee is such a good sport posing for pictures at Mary's house after she opened the gift. Probably would have looked cuter if I took a picture of it against a solid background so you could see the pattern better. I can't wait to make another, but this time for me!

My Duck

Well I finished my duck and bird over the weekend. Dark brown bird with blue eyes = SCARY, so you won't be seeing a pic of that until I change the eyes. I'm loving this crochet thing. I can't wait to make more!

Finally Learning to Crochet

So I took a creative stitchery class in 9th grade where it introduced you to crochet, cross stitch, embroidery, etc. I learned to do basic crochet but never learned to follow a pattern... until last night. These are the projects I'm working on and can I just tell you I LOVE IT!!! I'll post pics of my finished projects when I'm done, but just be warned they will look NOTHING like this. If you've wanted to learn to crochet, just do it. Don't procrastinate 8 years like I did.

New Website

My boss decided our website needed a makeover, and she asked me to do it. I've never done anything like this before so I was pretty nervous. She wanted it to look more scrapbooky since it's a scrapbook store, so this is what I came up with.

Crafts, Crafts, and More Crafts

I put these on my other blog a while ago, but they really fit best on my craft blog. Lately I've been trying to craft with things I already have, minus a few small expenses like paint. (Hence the repainting chairs below.) It's been fun and has really stretched my creativity, or lack thereof with some of the projects. Oh well, it's just fun and relaxing to me. I love spending my time this way. As you'll see in the pictures below, it looks like a box of crayons exploded in my house. It sure is bright and happy to be in though.

Chairs

I decided to finally repaint my kitchen chairs. I found them on KSL for $10 each. They are great little chairs but I thought it might be fun to paint them black. After talking with my cousin who is an expert at these things, I got a few little pointers and tried it out. I think they turned out pretty good for my first time. The dark stain finish makes a world of difference!

After sanding the finish off.

After spray painting them black and sanding the edges. The one on the right is the finished product after the stain. I told you it made a huge difference!
