Felt Flowers

Well instead of working on my finals this past weekend like I should have, I decided to make some felt flowers hair clips and pins. It's fun changing things up a bit. I'm selling them in Pebbles Boutique which is definitely keeping me busy. Come in and check them out!

Cake Platters

I've seen cake platters around at some boutiques and thought I'd give it a whirl. Lately I have been loving the DI and the many projects I can find there. (More projects in the works from there you'll see once school is out.) I was there with Ali about a month ago and we picked out some really tacky plates and bowl/cups/candle holder things... I think. :) Anyway, I finally glued each pair together last night and stacked them. I only had a few clementines and apples to display on it, but how cute would it be with different homemade Christmas goodies. Maybe I'll get around to doing that too. Maybe.

This cost under $10 including glue and maybe took 10 minutes to glue all of them. I let them sit over night before moving them to make sure the glue set. This was so so easy!

Photo 101

I'm taking photo 1 in school this semester. It's a film only class that has really forced me to slow down and learn how to use an SLR camera. I think it's making my digital photography and photoshop skills better oddly enough. Anyway, I wanted to post this series of photos I'm pretty proud of. The final image still isn't perfect, but hey, cut me some slack I'm only in photo 1. The top left image was the first one I printed, then by controlling how long and where the light hits my print in the dark room, I ended up with my final print. I was amazed at how much improvement could be done in a dark room and not on a computer. Now I just need my actual photography skills to improve so I don't have to do that much work on every photo.

Flowers

Pebbles just got in this new thick black chipboard. It's one of those things you want to use right away when you see it. So I decided to make a notebook. I also made little flowers for my hair and decided they might look cute in a frame. This could be cute in a little girls room. I made some flowers for my little niece too, but she didn't want them because the edges were "dirty"

Baby DOLL Blanket

So as you can see I'm still on my crochet kick. I decided I would try and make a baby blanket for my new little niece. As I started out, it seamed kind of small, but I just assumed the pattern was right and that everything would turn out fine. Needless to say, there is no way you could wrap a baby in this blanket. Baby doll maybe, but not my little niece. I looked at the pattern after to see the finished size of 18"x 24" written right on it. Duh Amy! I guess I will have to make it twice as big next time.

Crochet Giraffe

I finally bought a yarn needle so I could sew this little giraffe's parts together. I also attempted to make a flower without a pattern. Let's just say I'll definitely be using a pattern in the future.

the giraffe and the duck patterns can be found here for free when you register with them.

Ruffled Apron

I decided to make Jace's mom Mary an apron for her birthday. I fell in love with this fabric when I saw it. It's just so bright and loud I couldn't resist. I saw this apron and loved the soft ruffle at the bottom. I called up my mom, she made a pattern for it and away we sewed. I wrapped it up in a chinese take-out box. (get it? It's a food box with an apron in it.) I'm lame, I know. Anyway, these are the best pics I have of it. Mandee is such a good sport posing for pictures at Mary's house after she opened the gift. Probably would have looked cuter if I took a picture of it against a solid background so you could see the pattern better. I can't wait to make another, but this time for me!
